Has gained experience in all aspects of the construction process, with design knowledge using all general construction materials.  Has worked on a wide range of projects, including building structures, roads and drainage; refurbishment of historic & listed buildings; retail and office developments; developing congested inner city sites; temporary works including the retention of large listed facades; housing estates; works to Motor Racing circuits; contaminated lands works.

  • Industrial development for printing works, Walthamstow - £5m
  • Industrial development, Waltham Cross - £9m
  • New build office development in Central London - £18m
  • Refurbishment of Spencer House, Grade 1 Listed Building - £5m
  • Re-development proposals for Chateau in France into European training HQ
  • Temporary works design for the retention of party walls and front facades (working directly for contractors)
  • Structural assessment of office building in Docklands bomb blast damage
  • Housing project adjacent to main line railway including design of Acoustic wall - £4m
  • Mixed office and retail development in Epsom - £9m
  • Office development and theatre refurbishment in Berlin - £5m
  • Various track modifications and associated building works at Brands Hatch
  • New apartments on the banks of the River Thames including the design of a new river wall - £2m
  • New build mixed development over six storeys including basement - £38m  
Worked with GEC-Mowlem in 1988-89 as a site engineer on the upgrading of the Docklands Light Railway.  This included the programming  and construction of the railway, reinforced concrete structures at Canary Wharf Station and strengthening of composite steel/concrete bridges over the docks.
Site experience on a wide variety of other projects has been gained during the course of his professional career.

Professional Development and Technical Skills
 
Familiar with many Structural Analysis and draughting programs including AutoCAD 2008, AutoCAD Architecture 2008, Masterseries, STAAD, QSE, Corus Software, RAM Structural System, WinDes (Foul & Surface water analysis) and BREVe (wind load calculation).  Regularly attends technical seminars to keep abreast of the latest advances, primarily though the Institution of Structural Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers, Association of Consulting Engineers and in-house seminars.
